Terry B. Ragan

Terry Bruce Ragan, 70, of Warsaw, MO, formerly of Shelbyville, IL, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2009.
Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, January 11, 2009, at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Shelbyville, Illinois. Visitation from 11:00 a.m. – 12 noon on Sunday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be made to River Church, 28863 Commercial Ave., Warsaw, MO 65355.
Terry was born on October 25, 1938, in Shelbyville, IL, the son of Harley Paul “Doc” and Esther Helen Smith Ragan. He grew up in Shelbyville and graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1956. On December 5, 1965, he was united in marriage to L. Majean Jarrell. Terry was in construction and they lived in various cities and states. In 1989, they became permanent residents of Warsaw. Terry had been a construction supervisor for Hilty Quarries for a number of years. He enjoyed his work and loved to develop land.
He was an active member of River Church where he served as Deacon, a member of the Board of Trustees and was in charge of maintenance and development.
He is survived by one son, Robert Craig, and wife, Sally, of Martinsville, IN; one daughter, Carrie Grobl and her husband, Karl, of San Diego, CA; one son-in-law, Dale Frerichs of Corpus Christi, TX; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Frances Florini Fesser of Bloomington, IN; two nieces, Debra Shoaff and Dianne Schultz; one nephew, Robert Dove Florini; other relatives; and many friends.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Majean, on June 29, 2007; two daughters, Brenda Frerichs and Heidi Rottler; brother, Richard Ragan in infancy; and sister, Norma Holland Young.
