Dwight B. Wooters

Dwight B. Wooters, 77, of Shelbyville, died at 2:56 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2009 in Shelby Memorial Hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 21, 2009 in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville with Rev. E. Wade Helmkamp and Rev. Mark Sanders officiating. Visitation from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Saturday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to the Shelbyville Little League Baseball Complex.
Mr. Wooters was born on January 6, 1932 in Moweaqua, Illinois, the son of Ray Estel and Mary Beery Wooters. He graduated from Moweaqua High School in the Class of 1949. He served in Air National Guard and was activated to the Air Force during the Korean War. Dwight owned and operated various businesses in the Shelbyville area. Among those were the Shelby Bowl and D’s Resale Shop both in Shelbyville. He was a member of the Westervelt Christian Church, Roy Vanderpool American Legion Post # 81 and Moose Lodge # 1294 both of Shelbyville. Dwight enjoyed time with his family, going to auctions and fishing on his boat. He married Dorothy Ann Banks on September 26, 1951 in Westervelt, Illinois. She died on April 7, 2006.
Surviving are his children, Beth Calvert and husband Dave of Blue Mound, Becky Fedrigon and husband Alan of Shelbyville and Jeff Wooters and wife Heather of Shelbyville; sister, Wilma Eck and husband Albert of Franklin, IN; and four grandsons, Derek Calvert of Minneapolis, MN, Brett Calvert of Blue Mound and Brayton and Harrison Wooters of Shelbyville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy; and infant daughter, Diana.
