George W. Stovall

George “G.W.” Stovall, 52, of Shelbyville, died at 4:22 a.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2010 in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, IL.
Funeral services and Masonic rites will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 23, 2010 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Lee Lovett officiating. Visitation from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Friday. Casual attire is requested. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to the Music Fund of the First United Methodist Church of Shelbyville.
G.W. was born on February 6, 1958 in Shelbyville, IL, the son of Troy J. and Mildred Irene Thomas Stovall. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1976. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Shelbyville, where he was a longtime member of the church choir. G.W. will be remembered for his love of music and NASCAR racing. He was a member of Joppa Masonic Lodge #706 of Cowden, Shelby Co. Shrine Club and Ansar Shrine of Springfield.
Surviving are his sister, Mary Jo Curry and husband Ron of Shelbyville; niece, Jessica Watton of Shelbyville; uncle, Gary Thomas and wife Mary Sue of Decatur; several cousins; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
