Pamela R. Brown

Pamela Rae Brown, 54, of Cowden, IL, died at 4:22 p.m. Saturday, October 16, 2010 in St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 21, 2010 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Lynette DeAtley officiating. Visitation from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to her husband, Blaine.
Pamela was born on October 4, 1956 in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of Lawrence “Larry” Eldon and Roberta May Portwood Stevens. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1975. She worked for Roadmaster Bicycle in Effingham for many years. She married Blaine Curtis Brown on June 15, 1975.
Surviving are her husband, Blaine; son, Gerald L. Brown and wife Charie of Cowden; father, Larry Stevens of Cowden; brothers, Paul Eldon Stevens and Ralph Darin Stevens both of Cowden; sisters, Bev Hopkins and husband Fred of Seneca, MO, Marla Powers and husband Don of Shelbyville, Joyce Pendlay of Heartville and Roberta Lee Stevens and significant other Kelly Fuller of Cowden; grandmother, Daisy Stevens of Shelbyville; mother-in-law, Marybelle Brown of Alton, MO; step-granddaughter, Monica Davis; step-great granddaughter, Julie Davis; several adopted grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kristal Dawn Brown; mother; sisters, Shirley Arkebauer and Sherrie Collins; father-in-law, Gerald Paul Brown; grandparents, Paul Stevens and Ralph and Florence Portwood; and four uncles.
She was a devoted wife, mother, aunt and friend. She loved to play bingo with her sisters and mom.
