William H. Krause

William H. Krause, 88, of Shelbyville, IL died at 12:35 a.m. Thursday, April 5, 2012 in Collier Hospice Center, Wheat Ridge, CO.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 13, 2012 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Greg Breeden officiating. Visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Gallagher Chapel Cemetery, near Fancher, IL. Memorials may be given to The Gideons International.
Mr. Krause was born on January 16, 1924 in Chicago, IL, the son of Bernhard H. and Gladys L. Klar Krause. Bill graduated from Tuley High School, Chicago, IL in 1942. He began working as a dairy farmer prior to entering the Army in 1947. While in the service he served as a cook while with the Medical Detachment at Oliver General Hospital in Augusta, GA. Following his time in the service, he was a machine operator for Oliver in Shelbyville and for Blaw-Knox in Mattoon, IL where he retired from in 1989. He also farmed in the Shelbyville area. His hobbies included bee keeping and driving horses. He attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Shelbyville. He married Dorothy L. Miller on April 9, 1955. She died on July 29, 1996.
He is survived by his son, Anthony L. Krause and wife Barbara of St. Louis, MO; daughter, Gladys F. Rapinchuk and husband Andrew III “Drew” of Arvada, CO; sister, Mary C. McDorman of Temecula, CA; six grandchildren, Sheree McNaughton, Jeff Jones, Richard Krause, Sara Huffman, Anna Rapinchuk and Andrew Rapinchuk, IV; and four great grandchildren, J.T., Kyle and Haley McNaughton and Jayne Huffman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy; son, Timothy Krause in 1960; and a brother, Bernard.
