Marjorie J. Canavan

Marjorie Jean Canavan, 90, of Shelbyville, IL, died at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2014 in Shelbyville Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Shelbyville, IL.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 3, 2015 in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL with Chaplain Tim Haworth officiating. Family and friends can gather from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Saturday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to Harbor Light Hospice or Shelbyville Public Library.
Marjorie was born on January 6, 1924 in South Haven, Michigan, the daughter of Leo and Gladys May Bower Daggett. She attended Morris High School and also Shelbyville High School, graduating in the Class of 1941. She worked as an inspection supervisor for Taylor Pharmaceuticals in Decatur, IL for many years. Marjorie married Jack T. Canavan on June 4, 1942. He died on June 8, 2001.
She is survived by her son, Glenn C. Canavan of Shelbyville, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; brother, Robert Daggett; and sisters, Peggy Wiekert, Thelma Stewart and Barbara Haase.
