He then attended the University of Illinois and Southern Illinois University.

After college Frank worked at several different jobs including American Investment Corporation, and as general manager of several different restaurant chains.  He found his true passion in the newspaper business as a reporter and editor and finally Managing Editor.

Frank fell in love with his adopted community of Shelbyville and the surrounding area.  His many years at the newspaper gave him the opportunity to meet many people and write many stories.  He wrote articles on topics that were important to the community and because of his efforts was named “Outstanding Citizen of the Year” in 2007.  He served on the Planning & Zoning Board for the city of Shelbyville for many years.

After retirement from the Daily Union, he was a county board member for 7 years.  Frank was also a member of the Shelbyville Lion’s Club and served in several offices including President.

Frank loved his family and enjoyed watching his kids and grandkids in their sporting events.  Over those years he coached all his kids in little league baseball, church league basketball, and his daughter Melissa’s college basketball summer program.  He also served on the athletic committee and as athletic director as well as scorekeeper at Holy Family School in Danville.

His kids and grandkids came to know and love Shelbyville having annual camping trips at the lake (16 consecutive years) and yearly Christmas parties.

Frank enjoyed traveling adventures throughout the United States with his wife Karen and especially a special trip abroad.  He loved nature and hiking the Dacey Trail.
