Marie Bruns, 88, of Shelbyville, died at 9:36 a.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2010 in Shelby Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 31, 2010 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Kevin Ray officiating. Visitation from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Stewardson Cemetery, Stewardson, IL. Memorials may be given to the First Christian Church of Shelbyville.

Marie was born on January 15, 1922 in Stewardson, IL, the daughter of Frederick John and Emma Idella Baugher Bruns. She graduated from Stewardson High School. Marie worked in the Shelby County Clerk’s Office until her retirement. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Shelbyville, Eastern Star Chapter # 69 of Shelbyville and White Shrine of Jerusalem of Mattoon.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and great great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William and Edward Bruns; sisters, Bluebell Maxfield, Isabell Bruns, Iola Folkes and Delores Bruns; niece, Janet Maxfield; and nephew, Warren Edward Bruns.
