Betty Lee Fulford, 80, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 7:19 a.m. on Monday, February 16, 2026, in her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. A private family burial will be held later in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Betty was born on June 8, 1945, in Morrisonville, IL, the daughter of Lawrence Ambrose and Lenora Alice (Lovens) Boarman. She attended grade school in Nokomis and high school in Shelbyville. Betty married Carl C. Fulford on June 8, 1961, and they were blessed with four children, Brenda, Chuck, Kathy, and Steve. Betty was a bus driver for Central Illinois Public Transit for over 25 years. She enjoyed gardening, shopping, watching game shows, going to EPOC, and spending time with her family.
Betty is survived by her son, Steve Fulford (Rene) of Shelbyville; five grandchildren, Sara Watson (Chase) of Cowden, Kyle Strohl (Nikki) of Olney, Brittany Strohl of Shelbyville, Jordon Perry (Triston) of Assumption and Shyania Fulford of Pana; ten great grandchildren, Aubrie Dilley, Carter Dilley, Ky Strohl, Lennon Perry, Rylee Hardy, Raylan Allen, Charles Allen, Hunter Watson, Waylan Watson (fiancée Tatyana Duckwitz), and Timber Watson; great great grandson, Weston Watson; sister, Donna Norris (Gene) of Baldwin, MO; brother-in-law, George Norris of Taylorville; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl on November 1, 2021; son, Chuck Fulford; daughter, Brenda Fulford; infant daughter, Kathy Fulford; granddaughter, Jessica James; brothers, Ed, Joe, and Bob Boarman; and sisters, Shirley Gaddis, Sue Roessler, and Mary Evelyn “Tootie” Norris.
