Bruce L. Krile

Bruce L. Krile, 69, of Strasburg, IL, passed away on Wednesday morning, April 23, 2025.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Grace Lutheran Church, Strasburg, IL, with Rev. Kene Whybrew officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg, IL. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Strasburg, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Strasburg Fire Department, Grace Lutheran Church, Strasburg Lions Club, Sullivan AMBUCS, or the family in care of Justin Krile.

Bruce was born on February 4, 1956, in Champaign, IL, the son of Lawrence K. and Ruby E. (Doeding) Krile. Bruce grew up on the farm in Strasburg, IL, and graduated from Stewardson-Strasburg High School in the Class of 1974. Bruce was a member of the Sweet 16 basketball team at Stew-Stras. He took real estate classes at Lake Land College in Mattoon, IL, and graduated from the Superior School of Auctioneering in Decatur, IL. Bruce began his career in auctioneering at the age of 19, by holding several farm and antique auctions. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, Bruce ran an auction house in Shelbyville, IL, before joining Max Tabbert to become Krile-Tabbert Auction Service. After Max’s retirement, Bruce’s son, Justin, joined him in the business, becoming Krile Auction Service. 2025 marked Bruce’s 50th year in the auction business. Bruce was also a grain and cattle farmer and enjoyed raising rabbits and chickens. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Strasburg and AMBUCS in Sullivan, IL. In his spare time, Bruce loved playing cards. He married Marcia K Miller on October 2, 1981.

Bruce is survived by his son, Justin Krile (Trisha Keith) of Strasburg, IL; Trisha’s son, Pierce Boyer; sister, June Fuson (William “Bill”) of Carbondale, IL; nephew, Ben Fuson (Mallory); and niece, Casey Fuson Santiago (Andrew).

He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Marcia on October 24, 2024.
