David was born on March 31, 1956, in Decatur, IL, the son of Paul Parr and Beverly Marcella (Jackson) Reifsteck. He attended school in Shelbyville and was a commercial welder and iron worker until his retirement. David was a member of Old River A.B.A.T.E. and spent his spare time riding his motorcycle and going fishing. David loved to laugh and make others laugh. He was always the first one to crack a joke or make an inappropriate comment just to get a rise out of others. David loved his friends and family above all. He spent many nights playing board games and finding new ways to cheat at Farkle or tinkering around in his garage. David lived for adventure and left an impression on everyone he met. He was recently baptized at First Christian Church in Effingham, IL
He is survived by his daughters, Erin Hennings (Rob) of Shelbyville, IL and Chelsi Kastl (Ross) of Shelbyville, IL, Step Daughter Angie Durbin of Shelbyville, IL; sisters, Rosemary Smith of Sullivan, IL, and Sara Helton (Robert) of Shelbyville, IL: seven grandchildren, Kendi Dove, Weston Dove, Alexis Kastl, Skylar Kastl, Nichole Logue, Meliah Hennings, and Makenna Durbin; and one great granddaughter, Gracie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Marcia Smith and Brenda Matheny; and brothers-in-law, Lawrence Smith and Michael Matheny.
