February 5, 1955 — July 23, 2025

Shelbyville, IL

Husband, father, and friend, Dennis Lee Price, 70, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at home at 9:40 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.

A Celebration of Dennis’s Life will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2025, in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Born on February 5, 1955, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Robert F. and Melba R. (Jones) Price. He married Lisa Price (Lower), of Shelbyville, on August 22, 1986, and was a proud father and cherished grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa; daughters, Jennifer Carr (Wally), Amber Hood, Shannon Price, Bryana Price, and Natalie Price; sons, Robert Price and Caleb Price; grandchildren, Simon (Maranda) Carr, Max Carr, Lari Carr, Lorraina Keller, Jenna Keller, Sarah Keller, Zachary Hood, Izik Hood, Hailey Hood, and Waylon Hood; brother, Dan Price; sister, Norma Reedy (Robert); mother-in-law, Jennie Lower; and sister-in-law, Angela Walden (Scott).

Dennis spent his life as a hardworking maintenance mechanic, always fixing, building, and lending a helping hand. If something was broken, he could fix it. If something was unfinished, he’d figure it out. His skills extended far beyond the workplace; he worked just as hard helping his kids and grandkids with their homes and lives.

He was a goofy guy with a big heart who never met a stranger. Whether he was cracking a joke, striking up a conversation in the grocery store, or swapping stories with strangers, Dennis loved being with people.

He loved watching TV and movies, listening to music, online shopping, socializing and indulging in sweets. You could always find Dennis sporting gear from his favorite team, the Green Bay Packers, and his faithful dog, Lucy, was never far from his side.

He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Randall Dean “Randy” Lower; brothers, David Price and Robert Wayne Price; children, Zachary and Stephanie Price; and great-granddaughter, Arietty Hood.

Dennis will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.
