Donald E. Ragan

Donald Ernest “Don” Ragan, 73, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 2:21 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2026, in his residence.

In keeping with Don’s wishes, his life will be celebrated privately. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to Saving Orphaned Animals.

Don was born on January 12, 1953, in Shelbyville, IL, the son of Paul Eugene and Rowena Jane (Duggins) Ragan. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1971. Don was a tire builder for Firestone in Decatur for many years. In his retirement, he worked as a cashier at Walmart in Shelbyville.

He is survived by his brother, Larry Ragan of Forest, VA; and niece, Brandi Nowlin (Milton) of Lynchburg, VA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Paula Ann Ragan (Joe Norfleet).
