Douglas R. Storm

Douglas R. Storm, 67, formerly of Shelbyville and Normal, IL, passed away in his residence in Belleville, IL.

Doug was born on September 30, 1958, in Shelbyville, IL, the son of Richard LeRoy and Doris Lee (McDonald) Storm. He grew up in Shelbyville and attended Shelbyville Schools. Doug then joined the U.S. Army in 1987, followed by the Army National Guard until 1991. Doug worked a variety of jobs including real estate broker and barber but ultimately found his calling as a nurse. Recently, Doug worked as Head of Dialysis in several hospitals in the Belleville area. Outside of his work, Doug’s true passion was playing his guitars.

Doug is survived by his brothers, Charles “Ed” Storm of Shelbyville, IL, Richard “Rich” Storm and wife Suellen of Shelbyville, IL, and Johnny Hanson of Taos, NM; sisters, Nancy Wheat and husband Terry of Shelbyville, IL, Misty Burger and husband Ken of Greencastle, IN, and Susan Storm of Florida; step-mother, Sarah Storm of Arthur, IL; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Storm; mother, Doris Hanson (Roy); and brother, Jimmy Hanson.

Burial will take place in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL.
