Georgia Ann Bauer , 88, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 9:18 a.m. Monday, April 18, 2022 in Villas of Holly Brook, Shelbyville, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2022 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL, with Rev. Nathan Woolery officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Strasburg, IL. Memorials may be given to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Georgia was born on September 16, 1933 in Henton, IL, the daughter of Delbert and Julia (Downs) Storm. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1952. Georgia attended Sparks Business College in Shelbyville and earned her Associates Degree from Lake Land College in Mattoon, IL. She worked for the Secretary of State’s Office, retiring from the Illinois State Library after 25 years.  Georgia married Dale W. Bauer, Sr. on June 15, 1952, and he preceded her in death on December 30, 2015. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Shelbyville, IL, where she was active in the Ruth Circle and the Altar Guild.  Georgia enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, crafting and traveling.

Georgia is survived by her sons, Dale W. Bauer, Jr. (Jill), of Maryville, IL, and Timothy P. Bauer (Teresa) of Shelbyville, IL; four grandchildren, Jered Bauer (Beth) of Maryville, IL, Bryan Bauer (Becky) of Bloomington, IL, Mauree Priest (Brent) of Noblesville, IN, and Andrew Bauer (Lara) of Strasburg, IL; and 8 great grandchildren, Dylan Stephens, Drake Stephens, Ainsley Bauer, Ava Bauer, Camille Bauer, Breely Bauer, Baylee Bauer, and Laikyn Bauer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale W. Bauer, Sr.; parents; and brothers, Carl “Mike” Storm and Virgil Storm.
