Janis M. Wood

Janis M. (Glick) Wood, 86, of Tower Hill, IL, passed away at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, in Shelbyville Manor, Shelbyville, IL.

Janis was born on February 12, 1939, in Tower Hill, IL, the daughter of Victor and Sarah (Godfrey) Glick. She graduated from Tower Hill High School in the Class of 1957. Janis married Robert L. “Bob” Wood on May 30, 1958, and were blessed with three children, Katrina, Brian and Valerie; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Janis worked alongside her husband at their business, Century Tractor Parts. She was a housewife and mother, and then took up ranching, raising milk goats and milk cows, and tending to other livestock. Janis was also a 4-H leader for several years.

She is survived by her children, Katrina (Kent) Griffith and Brian (Ramona) Wood all of Tower Hill, IL; son-in-law, Randy Willmore of Fairview, TN; sisters, Charlotte (Sherman) Wallace of Orlando, FL and Ellen (Harry) Bender of Herrick, IL; brother, David Glick of Tower Hill, IL; sister-in-law, Jeanie Shuff of Mode, IL; grandchildren, Megan (Matt) Cagle and Rachel (Bryan) Bell all of Washington, IL, Hannah (Zach) Jepsen of Champaign, IL, Quincy (Whitney) Wood of Shelbyville, IL, Kassandra Willmore of Fairview, TN, and Logan (Anna) Willmore of Cleveland, TN; and great grandchildren, Micah and Morgan Cagle, Ryleigh and Dylan Bell, Harper Jepsen, Ephram and Addison Wood, and baby Willmore expected to Logan and Anna.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; parents, Victor and Sarah Glick; in-laws, Donald and Louise (Kasey) Wood; daughter, Valerie Willmore; grandson, Blake Robert Wood; and brother-in-law, Kenny Shuff.

In keeping with Janis’s wishes, the family will celebrate her life privately. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home in Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the Tower Hill Fire Department and Tower Hill First Responders and mailed to Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, 415 North Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565.
