Jean Litz

Jean Litz, 83, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 27, 2025, in Shelbyville Manor.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2025, in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. John Curtis officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Findlay Cemetery, Findlay, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Shriner’s Hospital for Children.

Jean was born on June 23, 1941, in Shelbyville, IL, the daughter of George and Mary Katherine Musson. She graduated from Findlay High School in the Class of 1959. Jean worked for the Garment Factories in Mattoon and Decatur for many years. She married Marion W. Litz on July 12, 1980, and was the bookkeeper for Litz Lawn Service in Shelbyville. She was a member of Cornerstone Community Fellowship and Moose Lodge #1294, both in Shelbyville.

She is survived by her husband, Marion W. Litz of Shelbyville, IL; children, Gary White, Virginia Fry (Steve), and Laurie White all of Shelbyville, IL, Keith Litz (Cathy) of Taylorville, IL, and Kathy Erwin and Karen Riley (Rusty) both of Shelbyville, IL; sisters, Mary Abbott of Sullivan, IL, Jackie Kerans of Charleston, IL and Sally Coventry of Findlay, IL; ten grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Penny Sue White; and sister, Helen Musson.
