Joyce A. Pauley

Joyce Ann Pauley, 85, of Tower Hill, IL, passed away at 6:18 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Copper Creek Cottage, Litchfield, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2025, at Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL, with Pastor C.J. Dyas officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday, June 8th in the funeral home. Burial will be in Tower Hill Cemetery, Tower Hill, IL. Memorials may be given to the Tower Hill Fire Protection District.

Joyce was born on January 14, 1940, in Shelbyville, IL, daughter of Wilbur Franklin and Vera Lorena (Tate) Corley. She graduated from Tower Hill High School in the Class of 1958 and went on to attend Sparks Business College in Shelbyville. Joyce began working as a waitress at Guy’s Steakhouse in Shelbyville. She later worked in the office at the oil refinery in Pana, IL, was a secretary for Superior Soil in Tower Hill, and office manager at Morrell Auto in Pana, IL. She married Roger Keith Pauley on April 30, 1960. Joyce devoted her life to helping her husband on the farm and raising their two daughters, Sheri and Sandy. While the girls were young, she volunteered at school activities, was a camp counselor at Rehoboth Baptist Camp and served as a Girl Scout Leader. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, in Tower Hill, IL, where she served as church secretary and treasurer. Joyce enjoyed cooking, baking, and taking care of her family.

Joyce is survived by her daughters, Sheri Trexler of Pana, IL and Sandy Calvert (Rick) of Hillsboro, IL; sister, Mary Lou Warren (Jim) of Wonder Lake, IL; nine grandchildren, Connor Trexler, Brock Trexler (Hannah), Jacob Trexler (Aly), Samantha Eisentraut (Cary), Lacey Osborne (Steven), Ian Calvert (Paiton), Noah Calvert (Casey), Levi Calvert (Haley), and Faith Calvert; and thirteen great grandchildren, Hudson, Banks, Stella, Eva, Penelope, Judah, Theodore, Emerson, Adelyn, Scarlett, Hunter, Roger, and Elias.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Roger, on August 1, 2021.
