Marcia L. "Marcie" Thomas

Marcia L. “Marcie” Thomas, 71, of Strasburg, IL, passed away Saturday October 17, 2026, in her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 21, 2026, in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Strasburg, IL, with Rev. Kene Whybrew officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg, IL. Memorials may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church or the family (in care of Amy Lawrence). Arrangements are by Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg, IL.

Marcie was born on July 22, 1955, in Shelbyville, IL, the daughter of Paul E. and Dorothy L. (Doeding) Juhnke. She graduated from Stewardson-Strasburg High School in the Class of 1973 and continued her education at Lake Land College in Mattoon. Most recently, Marcie worked at Rural King in Mattoon, IL. She enjoyed working in her flowers and watching St. Louis Cardinals Baseball and Fighting Illini Basketball. Marcie was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Strasburg, IL, and a proud grandmother.

Marcie is survived by her daughters, Amy Lawrence and husband Dontay of Mattoon, IL, and Katie Thomas of Collinsville, IL; granddaughter, Harlow Lawrence of Mattoon, IL; sister, Debra K. Richards and husband Mark of Stewardson, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
