Margery M. Eversole

Margery Merle Eversole, 94, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 3:34 a.m. Sunday, August 31, 2025, in Shelbyville Manor, Shelbyville, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday September 6, 2025, in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Pastor Don Jefferies and Pastor Derrick Ritchie officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to Shelby County Senior Center or First Assembly of God in Shelbyville.

Margery was born on July 3, 1931, in Westervelt, IL, the daughter of Walter and Iva Merle (Johnson) Wilson. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1949. She married Maurice Dwayne Eversole on June 4, 1950, and they had four children, William, Robert, Bradley and Cheryl. Margery worked with her husband and family on the Eversole Dairy Farm near Tower Hill, IL. She also worked at the U.S. Signal Depot in Decatur, the Herrick Library, Corner Copy in Shelbyville, and the Shelby County Senior Center. She deeply loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards with family and will be remembered for her no-bake chocolate cookies. Margery was a member of the First Assembly of God in Shelbyville, a member of the former Robinson Creek United Methodist Church and an avid fan of Illinois Fighting Illini basketball.

Margery is survived by her sons, William Eversole (Valorie) of Shelbyville, IL, Robert Eversole (Carolyn) of Tower Hill, IL, and Bradley Eversole (Devona) of Shelbyville, IL; daughter, Cheryl Wheeler (Wes) of Shelbyville, IL; 13 grandchildren, Aaron Eversole (Jenny), Rebecca Standerfer (Zak), Amanda Hill (James), Rachel Eversole-Jones (Daniel), Matthew Eversole (Krista), Kelsey Fox (Steven) Sadie Stork (Cody) Alexia Toney (Izaq), Nathan Eversole (Sue), Brandon Eversole, Casey Finks (Taylor), Cody Wheeler and Caylee Jefson (Lyle); 22 great grandchildren, Will McClain, Jack McClain, Hayden Eversole, Hannah Eversole, Heath Eversole, Caleb Hill,. Brooklyn Jones, Asher Jones, Harper Eversole, Henry Eversole, Eloise Eversole, Ezra Eversole, Tristan Fox, Remy Fox, Landon Stork, Nash Stork, Thea Stork, Nora Toney, Sophia Eversole, Claire Eversole, Tatum Finks, and Callie Finks; brother-in-law, Larry Eversole (Sharon) of Assumption, IL; and sisters-in-law, Joan Wilson of Dewey, AZ and Sandy Eversole of Shelbyville, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dwayne on July 17, 2021; brother, Loren Wilson; infant brother, Dallas Wilson; sister-in-law, Marilyn Weakly (Donald); and brother-in-law, Donald Eversole.
