Michael W. “Mike” Prosser, 60, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 5:43 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2026, at Willow Breeze Hospice House, Mattoon, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Pastor Kenny Morell officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family. In keeping with Mike’s wishes, cremation will follow the services with a private burial later.
Mike was born on June 30, 1965, in Pana, IL. He is the son of Janet Sue (Dagen) and Ronald L. Prosser, Sr. Mike graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1983. He was a welder for over 40 years, most recently working for Bruder Tank in Sullivan, IL. He was a member of Oak Valley UPC in Ramsey, IL In his spare time, Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, being outdoors, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Mike is survived by his children, Allison Bilyeu (Andrew) of Greenville, IL, Dalton VanHooser (Danielle) of Jackson, GA and Megan Held (Brandon) of Morrisonville, IL: bonus daughters, Alexis Hall (Wyatt) of Cowden, IL and Riley Davis (Tyler) of Decatur, IL; mother, Janet Prosser of Shelbyville, IL; brother, Stacy Prosser, Sr. (Brenda) of Shelbyville, IL; sister, Bonnie Galvan of Tulsa, OK: former wife and dear friend, Patty Sparks (Jeff) of Morrisonville, IL: nephew, Stacy Prosser, Jr. (Angie) of Shelbyville, IL; niece, Jeri Danneberger (Brian) of Shelbyville, IL; eleven grandchildren, Brodey, Corby, Dagen, Nora, Oliver, Dallas, Reed, Xavier, Xander, Xane, and Jasper; and Xeke on the way.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Loren and Mabel Dagen; father, Ronald L. Prosser, Sr.; and brother, Ronald L. Prosser, Jr.
