Patricia Kull Lenz was born on February 19, 1927, to George and Aurora Kull. She was born and raised in Strasburg, Illinois. She was a cheerleader and in the drama club at Strasburg High School and was the class of 1945’s valedictorian. She wrote in her yearbook that she wanted to travel and see the world. She went on to study and get her teaching degree at University of Illinois and Mexico City College in Mexico.
After college, Patricia returned to Strasburg and married Kenneth E. Lenz on September 1, 1948. With her desire to travel and Ken’s desire to fly airplanes, they pursued his career in aviation. Living in many different states in their early marriage – Tulsa, OK, where Patricia taught Spanish to high school students, Atlanta, GA, Long Island, NY, and Tucson, AZ – they eventually settled in the state of California. First in San Mateo where they had a daughter, Kimberly, and later in Villa Park where they had another daughter, Valerie.
There they joined St. John’s Lutheran Church in Orange, CA. Patricia loved to read and spent many days at the St. John’s School library volunteering, while her daughters went to school there. This led her to use her love of reading and Spanish language skills to start a job as a librarian for the Anaheim City School District.
They traveled to many places in the world with their girls and later with various aviation clubs.
Patricia is survived by her sister, Christine Storm; daughters, Kimberly Mack (John), and Valerie Miles (Don); grandchildren, Victoria Miles Treat (Samuel), Benjamin Miles (Taylor), Aurora Foster Hove (Sebastian), and Alexander Miles (Toni); step-grandson, Christian Foster (Patty); great grandchildren, Shepherd Miles, Winifred Miles, Oliver Treat, Callum Miles, Owen Treat, Lemuel Miles, Eleanor Miles, Carsten Hove, and Mabel Miles; and step-great grandchildren, Daniella Foster, and Kiera Foster.
