Paula Sue Hubner

Paula Sue Hubner, 76, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 2:22 p.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2025, in Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL.

Burial will take place at a later date in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children and mailed to Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, 415 North Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565.

Paula was born on March 22, 1949, in Evansville, IN, the daughter of Ocus Lee and Pauline (Hardison) Wells. Paula graduated from Findlay High School in the Class of 1967. She married Roger William Hubner on October 22, 1967, and they had three children, Sherry, Teresa and Roscoe. Paula worked at International Paper in Shelbyville for 26 years, retiring in 2009. Paula enjoyed bowling, crocheting, playing cards, and spending time with her family.

Paula is survived by her daughters, Sherry Hubner (Larry) of Lakewood, IL, and Teresa Snyder (Kevin) of Shelbyville, IL; son, Roscoe Hubner (Alison) of Shelbyville, IL; brothers, Jim Wells (Becky), and John Wells (Joy) all of Shelbyville, IL; sisters, Pam Catona (Philip), Loretta Agney (Brad), and Barb Hocking (Donavan) all of Shelbyville, IL and Christy Macklin (Brent) of Findlay, IL; sisters-in-law, Cheryl Wells of Mattoon, IL, Janet Wells of Shelbyville, IL and Vicki Hubner of Shelbyville, IL; brothers-in-law, Steve Ulmer of Strasburg, IL and Steve Hubner of Tower Hill, IL; step mother-in-law, Nancy Hubner of Tower Hill, IL: 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ocus and Pauline Wells; husband, Roger Hubner on May 25, 2024; brothers, Jerry, Edward, Larry and Raban Wells; sisters, Betty Markle and Becky Ulmer; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roscoe and Helen Hubner; brother-in-law, Virgil Hubner; and sister-in-law, Kathy Hubner.
