Ramona June Radloff, 96, of Strasburg, IL, passed away at 10:05 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Shelbyville Healthcare and Senior Living.
A memorial graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, in St. Paul Cemetery, Strasburg, IL, with Rev. Kene Whybrew officiating. Memorials may be given to Ramona’s family in care of Howe and Yockey Funeral Home. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home in Strasburg.
Ramona was born on September 4, 1929, the daughter of Lloyd and Madonna (Blake) Schlechte. She graduated from Strasburg High School in the Class of 1947. Ramona became a licensed beautician, owning and operating her own beauty shop in Strasburg. She married John W. Radloff in 1948 with Pastor Gilmore Lueck officiating. In her 30s, she enrolled at Eastern Illinois University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in education. After completing her schooling, she taught English at Findlay High School until her retirement. Ramona was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Strasburg.
Ramona is survived by her son, John E. Radloff (Judy) of Strasburg, IL; five grandchildren; many great grandchildren; brother, Warren Schlechte of Effingham, IL; sister, Donna “Duckie” Johnson (Ronnie) of Stewardson, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John W. on December 4, 2011; son, Randall Radloff on September 26, 2025; brother, George Schlechte (Rosemary); sister, Bettie Mellendorf; and sister-in-law, Lois Schlechte.
