Robert R. Engelhart, 83, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2025, at Pana Community Hospital, Pana, IL.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2025, at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Nokomis, IL. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL.
Robert was born on October 31, 1941, in Chicago, IL, the son of Ray M. and Sue F. (Letkusky) Engelhart. Robert graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1959. Robert was a Navy Veteran and served during the Vietnam Conflict onboard the destroyer USS Eversole DD789 in the Tonkin Gulf. After the service, Robert received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois. He then pursued a career with the State of Illinois Department of Human Services.
Robert is survived by his sister, Judy Stanfield and husband Glenn; brother, David Engelhart; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; twin-brother, Richard Phillip Engelhart; and sister, Nannette K. Scrivner.
