Sally Jo Bruska

Sally Jo Bruska, 70, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 4:30 p.m. Monday, October 27, 2025, at HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital, Shelbyville, IL.

Sally was born on July 11, 1955, in Portsmouth, VA, Naval Hospital, the daughter of Homer Roth Jr. and Carol Jane (Evans) Iler. She graduated from Bethany High School and continued her education at MacMurray College in Jacksonville, IL, earning a bachelor’s degree in history. Sally was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bethany and found joy in reading and knitting.

Sally is survived by her three daughters, Cathy Brimeyer (Mike) of Dubuque, IA, Rachel Hayes (Matthew) of Rockford, IL, and Mary De Florio (Zack) of Hainesville, IL; brother, Gary Iler (Lisa) of Moweaqua, IL; sister, Susan Schwartz of Bethany, IL; and five grandchildren, Matthias, Evelyn and Hannah Brimeyer and Frankie and Gigi De Florio.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother-in-law, Joe Schwartz.

The family will honor Sally’s life privately. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL.
