Talpha Leona “Tickie” Wooters, 80, of Findlay, IL, passed away at 10:29 a.m. on Monday, August 4, 2025, in her residence.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 10, 2025, in Wright Cemetery, near Findlay, IL with Pastor Mike Reynolds officiating. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home in Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to Faith Covenant Church in Findlay, IL.
Tickie was born on October 28, 1944, in Royalton, IL, the daughter of George and Hope (Hewlett) Hubbard. She graduated from Findlay High School in the Class of 1962. She married Eugene D. “Gene” Wooters on June 29, 1962, and they were blessed with two children, Curt and Michele. Tickie and Gene owned Wooters Sport Shop in Findlay for nearly 50 years. She and her husband also provided live music to Findlay and surrounding communities when they operated the Ole Country Church music and dance hall in Findlay. Tickie loved dancing and listening to gospel music. She was a member of Faith Covenant Church in Findlay.
She is survived by her son, Curt Wooters (Melissa) of Findlay, IL; daughter, Michele Ohm (Scott) of Findlay, IL; six grandchildren, Mason Ohm (Alivia) of Long Creek, IL, Caity Ohm (Brendon) of Anna, TX, Courtney Ohm of Crestview, FL, Ashlee Pritchett (Jared) of Waynetown, IN, Alayna White (Matthew) of Jacksonville, NC, and Anna Duckett (Lucas) of Shelbyville, IL; six great grandchildren, Nash and Nora Ohm, Palmer and Leona Pritchett, Haydyn White, and Audrey Duckett; brothers-in-law, Birt Maddox of Benton, IL, Johnnie Beaver of Johnston City, IL, and Glenn Wooters (Connie) of Findlay, IL; sister-in-law, Barbara Hubbard of West Frankfort, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene on November 29, 2020; two grandchildren, Cody Ohm and Avery Wooters; three brothers, Bill Hubbard, Frank Hubbard, and Ed Hubbard; and eight sisters, Virginia Lenich, Melba Maddox, Alice Peters, Emma Beaver, Betty Hudgens, Mary Hampton, Shelby Sanders, and Delores Mayer.
