Phillip W Hamilton
(September 18, 1942 – February 22, 2009)

Phillip Wayland Hamilton, 66, of Shelbyville, passed away at 6:20 p.m. Sunday, February 22, 2009 in Shelby Memorial Hospital after a long struggle with lung disease.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 28, 2009 in the Findlay Christian Church with his great nephew, Waylon Lawrence officiating. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to the Findlay Christian Church or the Shelby Humane Society.

Phillip was born on September 18, 1942 in Shelby Co., Illinois, the son of Clifford C. and Dorothy Mae Waggoner Hamilton. He was a custodian for the National Guard Armory in Sullivan and later the Moose Lodge in Shelbyville. He was a member of the Findlay Christian Church, where he was baptized in March of 1957.

Surviving are his sister, Mary Matlock and husband Lyle of Shelbyville; sisters-in-law, Normalu Hamilton and Doris Thompson and husband Bill both of Shelbyville; two step-children, Felisha Minch of Shelbyville and Marty Rush of South Carolina; two step-grandchildren, Nathan and Timothy; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Otis, Carl and Richard Hamilton; sister, Marge Parr; brother-in-law, Lyle Parr; and sister-in-law, Joan Hamilton.
