Ronald L. Prosser

Ronald L. “Ron” Prosser, 91, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 2:05 p.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2023 in Shelbyville Manor, Shelbyville, IL.
Ron was born on July 27, 1931, in Shelby County, IL, the son of Lloyd and Zula (Schwenker) Prosser. Ron served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He married Janet Sue Dagen on March 24, 1967. Ron worked as a truck driver for
B & J Redi-Mix Concrete and Construction Company, S.H. Young Construction Company, Shelbyville Redi-Mix and G.W. Prosser all in Shelbyville. He was a lifetime member of Shelbyville V.F.W. Post #4829 in Shelbyville and was proud to serve on the Shelby County Honor Guard.
Ron is survived by his wife, Janet; daughter, Bonnie Galvin of Tulsa, OK; sons, Mike Prosser (Julie Gilmore) of Shelbyville, IL and Stacy Prosser (Brenda) of Shelbyville, IL; brothers, Donald Prosser (Lynn) of Sacramento, CA and Larry Prosser (Vicky) of Tilton, IL; sister-in-law, Marilyn Prosser of Pana, IL; 10 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ronald Prosser, Jr.; brothers, Harold Prosser (Doris) and Stan Prosser; and sister, Norma Hubbartt (Chuck).
In keeping with his wishes, no services will be held. Arrangements are by Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to Shelby County Honor Guard and mailed to Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, 415 North Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565.
