Lois Jane Bly, 47, of Cowden, IL, passed away at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2024, in Cowden, IL.
A time for giving thanks and celebrating the life of Lois Bly will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at the Cowden Community Building, Cowden, IL. The time of the event has yet to be determined. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, 415 N. Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565. Memorials may be given to the funeral home to assist with final expenses.
Lois was born on June 29, 1976, in Effingham, IL, the daughter of Jessie and Linda (Barfield) Shellenbarger. She attended Cowden-Herrick High School in the Class of 1994. Lois was a CNA and a homemaker. She married Tara Bly on June 28, 2019.
She is survived by wife, Tara; mother, Linda Shellenbarger (Larry Severe); father, Jessie Shellenbarger; sons, Brandon Edwards and Jeremiah Collins (Alicia Walker); daughter, Alexandrea Reed (Brett); grandsons, Braydon Edwards, Brantly Reed, Hank Reed and Cash Reed; sister, Kendra Shellenbarger Severe (Patrick); nieces and nephew, Cherokee Severe, Wyatt Severe and Chevelle Severe; and close friends and loved ones who are like family, Pete and Kathy Jones and Elysia White.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; Loren Evans, Patricia (Carlisle) Evans, and Donald Barfield; uncle, Jim Barfield; and aunt, Jane (Barfield) Carlock.
